Brand Your Business
Your business brand is just one of the key components you will have to develop for your business. More than a logo, tag line, or a name on a business card, your brand is your company’s identity. It communicates to potential buyers who you are and why they should buy from you. It can differentiate you from your competitors and if it is perceived as high-value, your brand can help you enjoy many other advantages. So where do you start?
How do you create a brand for your company?
Start by writing your company’s mission or purpose – The Who. Ok, we know that you’re in business to make a profit. But your company’s mission is much deeper than that. Focus on your company’s core values. View your business from your customer’s point of view. The benefits that your target audience finds relevant would most likely be solid points that you should include in your company’s mission.
Describe your product/service (points of differentiation) – The What. What are the key features and benefits of your product/service? How are you different from your competitor?
Identify and describe your target audience - The Where. Define your target audience. Who will you be marketing your product/service to? Things like the age, sex, ethnicity, income and education level are important considerations. Why will they want to buy from you? What is the general profile for each target customer? Will you market to each segment differently? if so why?
Now, you’re ready to give A Creative Mind a call - The When. Another important process for your business is the creation of your company’s logo and other brand materials. Your logo is the visual representation of your company’s name that will be used in a number of applications. When thinking of what you would like your company logo to look like, think simple. It will save you printing costs in the long run. Some of the most successfully logos are one no more than two colors.
If this is the first time you are having your marketing materials created, we suggest that you start with your company’s logo. Depending on the complexity of the design, your company’s logo will be the one item that you will want to spend a little time in its development. We recommend that you take that time.
